According to the United States Census Bureau, Miami Beach has a total area of 18.7 sq mi, of which 7.0 sq mi is land and 11.7 sq mi is water. Miami Beach’s population is 82,890 according to the 2020 census. It has been one of America’s pre-eminent beach resorts since the early 20th century.
